Introduction

My life has been profoundly changed by the internet. God has used it as an instrument to increase my knowledge of Him and the Bible. I now find it my joy and desire to study God’s Word. This has not happened just through the blogs and websites but also through the books that these sites have encouraged me to read. I’m no longer a go through the motions Christian.

Since God has done wonderful things for me through the internet, it’s my hope that this blog will help me be his agent in a similar way. I hope to post entries on the books I’m reading, interesting articles on the web and the ways that God continues to work in my life. While I hope to make a positive contribution of my own, I strongly encourage you to check out the links I have listed. These are by Christian’s much smarter and more developed than I. As for books the Bible is of course a great place to start, but John Piper’s Desiring God is amazing (I’ll post more on it later)!

I decided to call this blog Sketch of the Reformation for a few reasons. First of all because my faith is still a rough sketch, which God is graciously helping me to fill in. The reformation has two meanings. First personally as God is reforming a ‘Christian in Name-Only’ into one of his followers. Secondly is the importance of the ideas of the reformation in this change; Only the Bible, Only Jesus, Only Grace, Only Faith, and Only for God’s Glory!
